Brisbane Wellness Guide with Marlo of G.Pump

Meet Marlo!

She is the founder of G. Pump, with a passion for making people feel good through joyful movement (loving this!).

As soon as you step into this gals world you can feel her vibrancy, warmth and positive energy. I don't know about you, but anyone that lives their life this way - I want to know where they spend their time!

I connected with Marlo recently to chat about her favourite corners in Brisbane, and I am thrilled to share these with you for your next trip to Yuggera Country.

Q

Your #1 place to break a sweat in Brisbane?

A

If I'm not hitting play on a G.Pump workout I'm heading to Inspire Cycle in Teneriffe. There's nothing like finding a rhythm on the bike, with a banging soundtrack and the blood pumping!

Q

Where is your favourite walking trail?

A

Mt Coot-tha for the view and the gardens, its a really beautiful part of the city! Very popular on weekends.

Q

Where do you go when you are looking to move your mental self?

A

Being outside in the sunshine is my form of meditation - making my mornings meaningful really makes me happy and allows me to de-stress. The Rose Garden at New Farm is a wonderful spot to be when the sun is rising.

Also, I love to pop a bottle of bubbles in my kitchen and dance to my favourite 'Happy Vibes' really loudly. Dance is my language!

Q

Your favourite small business to shop?

A

My favourite specialty coffee in Brisbane is The Black Lab Coffee Co so I shop all their coffee pods to be door.

There's a new florist in the area that is just the prettiest shop front you've ever seen! Called Aurora Flower Studio in New Farm.

Want delicious Japanese with a grungy twist? Head to Zero Fox in Newstead.

If You Say So in St. Lucia is the prettiest little coffee spot and they have super tasty baked treats too!

Every Saturday in New Farm are the Jan Power Farmers Markets, we try to buy all our produce for the week off local sellers, and the quality is unreal.

Q

A great spot to watch the sunrise or sunset?

A

Grab a bean bag at Howard Smith Wharves for sunset, watch the story bridge light up and the ferries dot across the water back and forth. The trees opposite the bank at Kangaroo Point are covered in fairy lights and just as dusk falls its such a special place to watch the city turn to night.

Q

Your destination for some FUN?

A

Mr Percivals on Howard Smith Wharf is such a treat. M-F they have aperitif hour from 3-5pm with $12 margs ...HELLO SAILOR!

Cloudland every Thursday night has salsa night! They have 3 of live music, dancing, salsa lessons and open dancing. It's an absolute vibe. They also host drag bingo Sundays....say no more.

If I want to get out and about, I jump on a scooter and scoot around the rivers edge all the way to the other side of the city in West End. It's so pretty by the water, and it's such a great adventure!
